C onverting a barn to residential use is a popular way to create an unusual, spacious home with plenty of character. Many old agricultural buildings have no use for modern farming, so providing them with a new, viable purpose is beneficial to both conservation and sustainability. But finding an appropriate structure and getting the alterations right is not always straightforward.
