The Sailor’s Grave

MAY 2017 marks the centenary of the burial in Inneans Bay of the human remains washed ashore in 1917.

The controversy over who found the remains was put to rest more than 30 years ago when a police report turned up in the archive of Argyll and Bute Council.

The finder was named as Duncan Sinclair, then a shepherd at Largiebaan and later head shepherd at Ballygroggan.
