Keep the asset strippers off

BETTER that the community makes a bid for RAF Machrihanish.

A move to buy the former RAF base at Machrihanish on behalf of Kintyre communities was proposed at Monday’s meeting of the Kintyre Initiative Working Group (KWIG).

Councillor John Semple, chairman of KWIG, has described it as a ‘Claim of Right’ over the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Base at Machrihanish after Defence Estates which runs the site for the MOD, said they want to dispose of the old Cold War base.
