Seattle songstress strums into Kintyre

A NORTH American folk star on her first European tour wowed a tiny Campbeltown audience.

Singer/songwriter Brenda Xu, from Seattle, and her supporting guitarist Kacy Sommers, had already gigged in Reykjavik, Dublin and Glasgow before playing at a Homesong in front of an appreciative audience of just 25 at David and Ineke Fee’s Witchburn Road house.

The pair played a free Campbeltown gig on Sunday afternoon at the Ardshiel before moving to their next major date in London, followed by Rome and Berlin. About two years ago the Fees started holding music gigs in their home in Campbeltown.
