Ann’s amazing 11th Machrihanish championship win

CAMPBELTOWN woman and defending champion Ann Gallacher has bagged her 11th Machrihanish Golf Club ladies’ championship.

Her golfing brother, John Gallacher, is cut from the same turf and added to the family honours by winning his club championship this month at Pumpherston near Livingston.

Twenty-two ladies played in the opening round of the tournament, which was contested over three rounds of 18 holes on the Pans course, on a wet and windy Saturday recently.
