Young pupil’s story falls just short

A DRUMLEMBLE pupil’s tale, picked ahead of thousands of entries in a BBC Radio Two writing competition, could not unfortunately make the final 50.

Emma Matthew’s story beat more than 120,000 others to reach the second round of Chris Evans’ 500-word competition.

The talented 11-yearold made it through to the top 4,500, and the Courier has been given permission to print a copy so that the rest of Kintyre can read her story.
