Fish merchant, RNLI coxswain and author

Thomas Ralston - December 30 1935 - December 11 2017

RENOWNED wholesale fish merchant, decorated lifeboat coxswain and author Thomas Ralston died peacefully at his home in Lundin Links, Fife.

Tommy, born in December in 1935, wanted to be a fisherman for as long as he could remember. In 1950, not yet 15, he joined his father’s boat the Golden Fleece in Campbeltown, where he was born and raised.

They fished herring successfully in the Clyde, Whitby, the Hebrides, and the North Minch.
