We dish out our annual awards for things that amused us, or made us shout at the telly box/Interweb. It's more entertaining than the Oscars just with a lot less cleavage on offer. Not a lot we can do about that. Soz! When we heard Welsh 'athlete' Nath Phillips had suffered a stroke a few weeks ago were shocked. So in a more serious attempt at 'journalism' we hoaxed called the…No, no we didn't do that…We sent good mate Will Bailey caught up with him and find out more about it and how he feels about life now that he's on the mend.

Surf trips are funny old things. The often polished version you get in the surf mags doesn't reflect the reality of surfing onshore rubbish and spending more time in the pub than is strictly necessary. That and buying toy guns and trying to shoot each other in the balls. The Monster crew had a trip like this recently. But they wisely took along the brilliant Ben Selway to document and boy did he come back with the gold.

The late surge in October and November provided Super Sunday, quite good Thursday and even an okay Wednesday. In short pretty much every stretch of the British coast fired at some point. We threw our nets wide and these are the photographic fishes we recovered.

Mitch Corbet spent a lot of time on his own this year. On very remote islands. Maybe too much time. He couldn't even surf due to injury. Fortunately on his return last month he could surf and took Egor and Will Bailey with him to keep him..sane... ish…OK they didn't help, but they did score perfect waves and were adopted. Almost legally. Norquay Island is their story! Super Sunday was, of course, an occasion on the west coast of Ireland. The Lahinch big wave zone thrummed to life and the regular crew and a brace of other peeps thronged the line-up. It wasn't all rainbows and high fives under the misty cliffs. But the local crew got their just desserts using arm power. Here we present the boys getting serious salt on big ass boards.
