ACHIEVEMENT IMPERFECTION

Has Achievement hunting been undermined by developers and publishers alike?

INDIE games are often a byword for creativity, producing smaller; and often more personal, experiences to which a lot of large companies can no longer commit. Not because they’re incapable, but because of the ever-spiralling cost and ambition of the usual raft of AAA releases. Indie games don’t have those limitations and are usually inspired by passions and experiences without the same definition of success some bigger titles may expect. This allows for a much more varied and interesting catalogue of games, experimentation in game mechanics and interesting story-telling techniques.
