Touring for the first time in almost two decades has encouraged The Jesus And Mary Chain to pen new material. Singer Jim Reid revealed, “We’re doing an album now. We just started recording. It’s early days. I would say it’s a more mature sound, but let’s just wait and see.” Around the time of Psychocandy the band dropped a bombshell, admitting they ”could barely play any instruments”. Things haven’t changed, according to Jim. “We still can’t! We’ve never been fussed about technical ability. You can learn all you need to know to make interesting music in a few weeks rather than years.”
