Kirk Brandon revives his CV’s most recent project, adding Stiff Little Fingers’ Jake Burns and The Ruts’ Segs and Ruffy to its line-up. Dorothy provides a gutsy opening, but it’s otherwise largely an acoustic affair, never more understated than on the sombre Man Down: “He had a bit of bad luck/ He fell out of an aeroplane”. Guilty As Sin demands a campfire singalong and My Dark Places’ raw harmonies may already be one, while veteran fans will welcome SOD classic Never Take Me Alive’s hearty reinvention.
