What’s your podcast about?
Think of it as “this is your life” mixed with “where are they now.” I seek out some of the most beloved artists of the last few decades – many of whom no one else is talking to – and we go in depth about the ups and downs of their careers, their best stories, what they’re up to now, and how they pay their bills when the limelight fades.
How did you get into podcasting?
I’m an avid podcast listener and lifelong music junkie and wasn’t hearing the information I really wanted to know about the musicians I love, so I decided to create it myself.
Who’s your dream guest and what would you ask them if you had the chance?
It was Mark Hollis; I’d love to know how and why Talk Talk transformed the way they did. Another is Green Gartside of Scritti Politti. He made such great music and then largely disappeared. Where and why?
What makes your show different to the competition?
No one is going in-depth with these artists like we do. And no one touches on the business side of the music industry like us. It’s so important to me to honour them for the great work they’ve done. We all know the Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Beatles stories, but what about the other guys? That’s what’s truly interesting to me.
