With 2021’s first volume compiling their commercial years, volume two is a tougher sell. Yet, artistically, 2006’s self-titled album is as good as The Bluetones got: My Neighbour’s House is one of the era’s great lost singles, while 2003’s Luxembourg has a bounce to rival their heyday. True, 2010’s A New Athens is oddly formless, a lacklustre current finale from a band 12 years without new music. As before, volume two rounds up B-sides and rarities, adding two unreleased songs. All three are also out on vinyl.
