TART TART
As a tribute to their late bassist Paul Ryder, the Mondays have released a three-track digital EP of Squirrel And G-Man… lead single Tart Tart from 1987. In addition to its 2009 remaster are two unreleased versions: the first a John Peel Session from 1989 plus a live cut culled from a Sheffield University show that year. Shaun Ryder explains: “This special release of Tart Tart showcases the unique musical talent of our brother Paul Ryder who passed from this world. We will all miss you Horse. He brought the funk and the rock’n’roll to Happy Mondays.” All profits from the release will be donated to Music Cares, a charity which was chosen by Paul’s daughter Amelia.
