Rio's range includes ammunition for hunting as well as competitive clay shooting
R io cartridges are celebrating their 125th anniversary since they were founded in 1896 in the north of Spain. From its inception the company was closely linked to the explosives and powders industry through the Spanish Powder and Dynamite Society, founded in 1872 by Alfred Nobel. “Today with its state-of-theart manufacturing process and cuttingedge technology, it has managed to earnthe trust of the most demanding shooters and hunters in more than 100 countries,” they say.
The current Rio cartridge range caters for every level of shooter, from novice to top competitors in international events up to and including the Olympic Games. Richard Atkins was impressed with their 24g target loads when he tested them in last month’s issue, and also gave Rio 21 and 28g shells top marks last year.
“This anniversary fills the entire Rio Cartridges family with pride,” says Eduardo Hernando, commercial and marketing director. “It is an honour to maintain historic continuity to this rich heritage and all the people who have been part of this company. This milestone could not have been reached without the millions of shooters who were and still are loyal ambassadors of Rio.
