WLSS Ladies day

West London Shooting School held their annual Ladies’ Day on Wednesday 9 September. “It’s always a big highlight in the West London Shooting School calendar, but this year it was our first competition of the year,” says head shooting instructor Mark Heath. “We had a strong competition, great shooting and a morning of fun and plenty of humour at a social distance! We are thrilled to announce that the competition was won by Jenna Peaty who scored 44 points. Closely followed by runners up Elkie Holland and Adele Standard. Congratulations to all involved!”

This year’s Ladies’ Day was special for West London Shooting School

The competition is the culmination of the ground’s Ladies’ Course, a perfect way for ladies with busy lifestyles to get into shooting. The course is open to novices and experienced shots alike, consisting of three one-hour lessons including shotgun hire, cartridges and clays. At the end of the course participants are invited to take part in the friendly competition, followed by a champagne reception. The winner receives a luxury prize and the runners up are invited onto one of West London’s simulated days. Runners up at this event were Elkie Holland and Adele Standard.

The West London ground has now fully reopened six days a week. Since the end of May it was running a limited schedule with lessons two days a week. Precautions have been put in place to keep visitors and staff safe, including PPE and hand sanitiser, and staggered lessons to reduce footfall in the main lodge. Lessons can be conducted while maintaining social distance. With 60 acres of outside space and 140 traps and targets to choose from, the team at West London Shooting School say they are thrilled to be opening their doors six days a week once again.
