Newly signed up as the fourth member of the United Plugins brand collective, Muramasa’s first release is billed as a “magical tool providing a unique way to find the perfect reverb settings”. At the heart of Morphverb are nine reverb algorithms (Room, Plate, Echoes, Ambience, Infinite, etc), arranged around a dial for blending of any two adjacent styles. A shared array of adjustable reverb parameters comprises Low and High Damping, Predelay, Width, Size and Modulation; and one-knob Saturation and Compression processors are on-hand for distortion and dynamics control. There’s a dedicated Ducking circuit, too, for auto-attenuating the wet signal to make room for the dry input; and a handy spectrogram for visualisation. Morphverb costs €149.
