Dear Cottage Life

I loved your Editor’s Note about the New Zealand lake (Early Summer ‘17). I’ve spent summers on Lake Temagami since 1968, and our kids grew up loving its vast pine forests. We went to the U.K. in the ‘80s and visited the interpretation centre of one of the Welsh national forests. When we were leaving, I noticed that my daughter, then 15, had signed the guest book with “A cute little forest.” —Angus Scully, Lake Temagami, Ont.

I found myself a few quiet moments to read the Early Summer ‘17 issue. I loved the cover and the anticipation of all things Canadiana.

However, when I turned the page to “American Woman,” I questioned why you wrote about an American woman in Canadian cottage country, especially as we are celebrating our 150th year!
