The 2019 Geneva motor show proved that electrified cars are not only the future, but also very much now. As Jaguar’s I-Pace was crowned European Car of the Year 2019, every car maker worth its salt revealed new electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid or mild hybrid technology, to futureproof its vehicles. Peugeot took the wraps off the 208, and the pure-electric e-208, while Skoda revealed the Kamiq baby SUV, SsangYong took the wraps off its new Korando and Mercedes-Benz showed off a facelift for its GLC-Class. Renault’s brand-new Clio was on show, alongside Mazda’s new CX-30 SUV, the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Shooting Brake and the monstrous Volkswagen Touareg V8 TDI.

In EcoCar, we reveal Fiat’s hot new Centoventi concept car, the Skoda Vision iV, the Cupra Formentor sports SUV concept, Imagine by Kia and the exiting new Polestar 2, along with the luxurious Mercedes-Benz EQV. The SEAT el born concept got its first public viewing, with Audi showing off the Q4 e-tron just across the aisle. Peugeot had a smoking hot 508 called the Peugeot Sport Engineered, Honda revealed the e Prototype which is an evolution of the Urban EV and Volkswagen showed off the ID. Buggy. Alfa Romeo’s Tonole SUV looked so sexy alongside plug-in hybrid versions of the Jeep Renegade and Compass. A facelift for Kia’s Niro smartens things up with the arrival of the e-Niro and the Soul EV later in the year. BMW revealed a range of upgraded plug-in hybrid models designed to counteract the wave of Audi plug-in hybrid TFSI e models arriving shortly. Toyota showed its Viviz Adrenaline, Toyota exhibited the Corolla Trek and GR Sport, while Mitsubishi showed off a clumsy looking concept car called the Engelberg Tourer.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Recensito 21 agosto 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
