Four brothers and they all answer to “Jimmy!” People aren’t ambivalent about the Detroits. They either love ‘em or hate ‘em. You’ll see tears and sneers when old diesel-heads walk by, but all of them stop to look. From front to back are a ‘70s-era 3-53 power unit that once powered a rock crusher, a 1985 6V-53 that was removed from a Carpenter school bus, a 1971 6-71 that once powered a 1971 International grain truck, and a 1975 8V-71 that was mounted in a 1975 Ford 9000 semi-tractor. We’ve seen this display several times at the Tri-State Tractor and Engine show in Portland, Indiana, and it’s always an attention getter. It debuted at the show in 2011.
