DNA: Tell us about yourself.
Jack Colwell: I grew up on the Northern beaches of Sydney. My mum was a concert pianist and a music teacher, which is how I ended up in music. I was classically trained at the Conservatorium Of Music in the double bass and piano and composition. I was in the SBS Television Orchestra but I always wanted to write songs. I was doing a lot of classical composition and it wasn’t coming as naturally as songwriting.
Jack Colwell: guitars aren’t scary.
