LIKE MANY Australians, I visited Bali in my early twenties on a shoestring budget and loved every minute: racing through the streets on a scooter, massages on the beach, and crazy Kuta nightlife. Now that I’m a little older and have a better bank balance I’ve developed a taste for the finer things in life, including how I like to holiday. I’ve enjoyed the sun-soaked beaches of Saint Tropez and Mykonos, but never thought of Bali as a high-end holiday destination. All that’s changed. Some of Bali’s resorts and restaurants are stunningly world-class.
