Strike A Juxtapose: The Blond Ambition dancers now, left to right: Salim “Slam” Gauwloos, Luis Camacho (kneeling), Oliver Crumes, Carlton Wilborn, Kevin Stea and Jose Gutierez (on floor).
IN 1990 MADONNA ruled the world with her Like A Prayer album, a conical bra designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier, an ode to an underground gay dance craze called Vogue, and seven hot male dancers she took on the road during her record-breaking Blond Ambition tour. (And, yes, it’s the masculine spelling of blond without an e – just to make a point, perhaps?)
Twenty-five years later, the six surviving dancers have been gathered together by Dutch filmmakers Ester Gould and Reijer Zwaan for their documentary, wisely titled, Strike A Pose.
