Gale Force 9 released Time of the Daleks in late 2017. Since then the board game has grown in popularity, with a number of expansion packs on the horizon. “We’re in the renaissance of gaming,” says company head John-Paul Brisigotti…
The most feared creature in the universe.

There has been a long tradition of board games devoted to the worlds of Doctor Who, going right back to the early days of the series.

It all began in 1965, when you could get the family together for an exciting game of Dodge the Daleks. Over the years, fans have been able to roll dice and engage in a War of the Daleks, a Game of Time & Space or a Battle for the Universe, alongside Doctor Who versions of perennial favourites Risk and Monopoly. At the end of last year, Gale Force 9 released a new board game that enables players to become various incarnations of the Doctor in the immersive and co-operative Time of the Daleks.

John-Paul Brisigotti is the CEO of Gale Force 9’s parent company the Battlefront Group. “As a gamer since I was a young boy I’ve never known what it is like to not sit down and play Dungeons & Dragons, a game of Warhammer or a great board game,” he tells DWM from his office in Washington DC. “That interaction is at the core of what makes all types of hobby gaming work. In the current world where more and more of your time is spent in front of a screen, that gaming experience is more valuable than ever before.”
