By the time you read this Series 11 will have come to an end, but for now Galaxy Forum has got some catching up to do. Here are your thoughts on The Tsuranga Conundrum, Demons of the Punjab and Kerblam!…

What a Conundrum

The Tsuranga Conundrum had some amazing sets and beautiful costume design. This is one of the first Doctor Who episodes this season which really sends me back to how Doctor Who used to be. The classic ‘base under siege’ format fits perfectly for Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor.

This episode could have been a really good one – our protagonists hospitalised and having to deal with an alien intruder. But alas, I felt it lacked focus because the emphasis was placed on the pregnant man, who in my view should have been a mere background character reduced to a couple of scenes. I have little against the idea of the Pting, but sometimes it’s all in the execution, and I found it hard to take the creature seriously, as I presume we were supposed to. It just looked silly. There were positives to the episode – I liked the cinematography, set design, camera angles and the passing comment about Earth at the end. I do think future humanity will become confused enough to have a hero named after an avocado.
