Doctor Who Magazine’s TARDIS tin contains 120 tantalising, taxing and trivial questions. Each interviewee must answer a random selection…
Frazer Hines prepares to dip into the TARDIS tin.

Frazer Hines is running late. It’s not his fault – his train is at a standstill because one of the doors won’t shut. The phone pings with an update from Frazer: “They’re sending a man out from King’s Cross to close the door. I’ll keep you posted!”

A while later… Frazer, who played the Second Doctor’s companion Jamie McCrimmon from 1966 to 1969, comes bursting into the pub where we’re meeting. “At last!” he exclaims. “An hour and 40 minutes late. I was ten minutes away from King’s Cross when there was an announcement saying, ‘Ladies and gentleman, a door’s popped open and we can’t move.’ We waited and waited. Then this train pulled up on the other line and a guy jumped out. He came onto our train, did his thing with a crowbar and we eventually got going again. What a nightmare! At least I’ll get my train fare back… but I was worried I was never going to make it!”

Fortunately there’s still plenty of time for the TARDIS tin. Let’s get straight down to business…

What’s the strangest thing that’s ever arrived in the post for you?

A letter from a chap saying, “I love you as Jamie in Doctor Who. I love the kilt. But will you send me a photograph of you in swimming trunks?” It was very odd. What did you do? I just sent him an ordinary photograph.
