The Space Museum

THE DOCTOR AND HIS COMPANIONS, IAN, BARBARA and Vicki, emerge from a trance-like state to find that the 13th-century clothes they were wearing have suddenly changed back to their ordinary, everyday clothes. When Vicki drops a glass of water the broken pieces reassemble and the glass leaps back into her hand, but the Doctor is more interested in investigating the apparently dead planet they’ve arrived on.

Outside the TARDIS, there are no signs of life and advanced erosion blights the landscape. The travellers, walking on dust that is several inches thick but leaving no footprints, set off to explore a nearby space museum. At the entrance, they take cover as the doors open and two white-clad men leave the building; they’re seemingly unaware of the travellers’ presence and oblivious, also, to Vicki’s loud sneezing.
