The Mind Robber

TO ESCAPE A VOLCANIC ERUPTION, THE DOCTOR shifts the TARDIS out of time and space altogether, arriving in a white void – literally nowhere. A presence in the void uses images of home to lure companions Zoe and Jamie outside the ship… and soon, they find themselves encircled by strange White Robots. The Doctor pulls his friends back inside the TARDIS – but when he tries to activate an emergency power booster, an alien sound invades his mind. Moments later, the ship’s police box exterior breaks apart.

Waking up in a weird forest, the Doctor calls out to Jamie and Zoe, unaware that a mysterious figure in a control room has sent his servants to find him. Reunited, the TARDIS travellers realise that each of the ‘trees’ in the ‘forest’ is in fact the body of a giant letter. Having evaded the clockwork soldiers sent to round them up, the Doctor and friends encounter a unicorn and the Minotaur before the truth becomes apparent at last: they’ve arrived in a world of fiction
