H-1B visas

India is worried that Donald Trump will cut back on H-1B visas that are given to Indian IT engineers to work in America.

Navtej Sarna, India’s ambassador in Washington, has argued 400,000 Americans are employed because of the Indian IT firms’ growth; $20 billion in tax is paid by Indian tech companies in the US; $7bn is paid by Indian IT companies in social security contributions; and 120,000 US lives have benefited from Indian corporate social responsibility contributions.
