This moving, cathartic, non-fiction film documents the final days in the life of Air Florida entrepreneur Eli Timoner, as filmed by his filmmaking daughter Ondi Timoner. Elderly and beset by numerous health issues, Eli chooses to medically end his own life. There could be a more political film made about the issue, but Ondi lets her extraordinary home-movie-esque footage do most of the talking, ensuring an array of cameras are there to document every step of the process across the final two weeks of Eli’s life. It is a deeply intimate portrait of a person at their most vulnerable, and it’s rare to see such an outpouring of uncomplicated, unequivocal love expressed on screen as it is here. What a privilege to be allowed in the room.
