AT A TIME when the MCU is taking some wild creative swings (see She-Hulk: Attorney At Law), Werewolf By Night might be the wildest. Billed as a Disney+ Halloween special, it’s 53 minutes long, filmed in black and white, and stars Gael García Bernal as the titular terrieriser — sorry, terroriser.
This ambitious new venture is the directorial debut from Michael Giacchino, who might just be the best — and busiest — film composer in the business. “This year, I had six movies to score,” he tells Empire (The Batman and Thor: Love And Thunder among them). So why then has he added to his worrying workload by becoming the director of Werewolf By Night, a TV movie that could well be the oddest offering yet from the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
