Just as in fashion, interior design trends seem to constantly rotate and re-emerge every few years. Right now seems to be all about that Art Deco staple, Crittall – and not just when it comes to windows, as steel-framed room dividers and shower screens are also the thing of the moment. In fact, you’ll see a few prime examples of these in our guide to wet rooms, Go With The Flow, on page 94. But there are some styles that we all retreat to time and again, whose popularity will never wane – they simply evolve. In Country Living, we show how the traditional look has been updated while still retaining that classic country charm – turn to page 66 to find out more. The way that kitchens can all end up so different will never fail to amaze me. After all, they’re ‘just’ a combination of the same elements – cabinetry, surfaces, appliances, brassware – aren’t they? Yet, thanks to beautifully crafted products, stunning designs and clever tech, each ends up with its own personality and pizzazz. Who would have thought a property could have so much soul? When you browse through our real-life homes this issue, you’ll discover a wealth of heartfelt inspiration for your own hub. In Changing Places on page 24, find out how Ali and Joe Friedlein completely repurposed their ground floor without having to take down a single wall, leading to a stunning family kitchen. In contrast, Jenny and Fabian knocked three structures into one in order to create their dream space, with a much longed-for view into the garden – flick to Garden Room on page 36 to see the result. Proving you can blend the old with new successfully, Hannah and Toby Baker commissioned modern cabinetry for their period property, which was the perfect mix for this sociable family – see how they did it in Naturally Eclectic on page 48. One trend very much on the rise is maximalism.

Best value interiors mag!

I have been planning my new kitchen and home renovation for quite some time, it seemed to be taking ages to find quality inspiration and I bought so many different magazine trying to get ideas, until I downloaded an issue of EKBB. It was brilliant, there is so much inside and now I've got plans to renovate the whole house! It's real value for money and now I've got a subscription too! Recensito 19 luglio 2013
