This month we’re in a celebratory mood as we pull out the bunting, light the candles and pop the champagne to mark 21 years of ekbb. Happy birthday to us! From humble beginnings as one of Britain’s first and foremost specialist kitchen, bathroom and bedroom magazine, we’re still the number one in the marketplace and the first-read of choice for discerning consumers and design professionals in the UK and Ireland. Come on a journey with us as we delve into our archives in Flashbacks (page 80), look back at the history of the kitchen in Bring in the New and Then and Now, (pages 89 and 93) and discover our favourite 21 household design items in Icons of Style (page 102.) Design is always evolving and as a magazine that’s constantly striving to bring you the best of what’s new and now in the interiors world, it’s important to mark this issue with a look at the years to come. We asked some of our favourite designers and tastemakers to predict what they think the next 21 years will look like in Future of Design (page 98) and we pick our favourites of current and upcoming trends for bathrooms and bedrooms in Design Edit (page 110). Of course, we can’t talk about the future without considering the design-led tech that’s coming with it – see Style Statement (page 124).
