It’s no accident Little Mix have risen from humble X Factor beginnings to become the UK’s biggest girl-group: they sing brilliantly, put on a sick live show and clearly have their priorities in order. “I’d dress like RuPaul if I was Prime Minister,” band member Jade Thirlwall recently told The Guardian. Album four doesn’t always give them the top-notch songs they deserve – Oops, a duet with R&B dullard Charlie Puth, sounds like a cheesy sitcom theme – but highlights like Touch, Power and Shout Out to My Ex slay.

If you haven’t got tour tickets yet, write a grovelling letter to Santa ASAP.

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

KATE BUSH Before the Dawn Live albums are normally for hardcore fans only, but this one is special. When Kate Bush began her residency at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in September 2014, she hadn’t toured in 35 years. What followed was a thrilling hybrid of pop concert, musical theatre and performance art that brought her two greatest albums (Hounds of Love and Aerial) to life. A DVD release would have been preferable, but this 3CD box set still captures the thrill of having her on stage. It’s a welcome reminder that Kate Bush is a living, breathing person, and not just a myth.
