Bob the Drag Queen

“Perhaps you should change your name to Bob the Superstar,” gushed Carson Kressley during the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race. We getthe compliment Carson was trying to give, but that would imply Bob somehow changed throughout the competition. She didn’t. Bob was every bit the star walking into Drag Race as she was coming out of it. The only difference? She emerged from the other side, of course, purse first…

‘C’ for is confidence

What does it take to be America’s next drag superstar? That’s an easy one – we’re beaten around the head with it every bloody episode.

Charisma. Uniqueness. Nerve. Talent. More than just a funny acronym that spells ‘cunt’, it’s a set of markers that the devoted Drag Race fandom live their lives by.

Last month, we once again watched with bated breath as RuPaul chose the next queen to untuck with her eight other champions in the Pantheon of the Immortals.

There’s no doubt that Naomi Smalls has the nerve, catching fire midway through the competition and proving to the world she’s a force to be reckoned with; not just a cracking pair of legs.

And Kim Chi isn’t just unique, she’s the “next generation of drag” – albeit one the world maybe isn’t ready for just yet.
