Ask Aled

I’ve been single for nearly seven years. For many of those years, I thought I’d never find love. Recently, I recently started enjoying my single life, but I still have the same feelings about myself. I accept it as my flaw, but my friends tell me my moments of deep depression and selfloathing are not normal. Some have suggested anti-depressants, but I’ve been apprehensive about taking meds. I don’t want to feel like I’m boxing away a part of me to become a sociallyacceptable person, however, I hate the days where I wake up feeling lonely, unlovable, and incredibly ugly. I’m not willing to accept that I can never be loved until I love myself, and in order to love myself I need to take medication. Is it true that meds are the solution or is it possible that I’m a normal, overly-emotional, gay man? From CT
