MILLIONS OF US have long admired, and followed, Ella Mills, the founder and creative director of Deliciously Ella, impressed by the way she turned her health around through diet. While studying history of art at University of St Andrews she became ill with postural tachycardia syndrome, a debilitating illness that left her fatigued and in and out of hospital.

Ella researches everything forensically and found, for her, beginning to manage the condition meant switching to a whole foods, plant-based diet. She started sharing her recipes on her Deliciously Ella blog in 2011 – and the rest, as they say, is history. While seven years ago plant-based seemed niche, weird and wonderful, now it’s a mainstream trend people can easily follow or tap into.
