Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a malfunctioning pathway in the brain. In an ADHD sufferer’s brain, the pre-frontal cortex – that’s the part responsible for making sensible decisions, staying awake and alert, solving problems and managing emotions – doesn’t get enough dopamine and noradrenalin.
