With plummeting temperatures, central heating on full blast and more social events than you can shake a cinnamon stick at, winter can really take its toll on your skin. Luckily, the trusty face mask is here to help. One of the biggest beauty trends of 2017, the UK face mask market is now valued at an impressive £10 million. Take things into your own hands (literally) and whip up this all-natural one. It makes enough for two treatments or enter into the spirit of giving and share with a friend.
You’ll need 3 tbsp white clay or kaolin powder, 1½ tbsp milk powder, 1 tsp lavender water and one drop each of frankincense essential oil and chamomile essential oil . Frankincense promotes feelings of relaxation, while chamomile calms and carries a host of skin benefits. Mix the dry ingredients together, then add the essential oils and lavender water and stir well. Leave for a few minutes, and then if necessary add more lavender water until you have a consistency that is easy to spread. Apply to cleansed skin and leave on for 15-20 minutes to soothe dry skin. Wash off well, moisturise and start the new year with a fresh face.
