Do you remember as a kid, bouncing on a trampoline, limbs akimbo, every bounce whipping up a stomachchurning kick plus a vague fear that you might not make it back down? Remember how much stamina you had, bouncing for hours while your mum yelled that dinner was getting cold? Well, it turns out that’s not a thing past age 12.
This is perhaps something I should have foreseen, going into a Rebound UK class, which is described as ‘a full-body workout that burns fat, strengthens and tones the core, legs and upper body’. So, pretty much your all-in-one workout.
Nevertheless, I breeze into the studio, not stopping to question the ‘I can and will’ slogan, splashed across the door, and choose a mini trampoline at the front of the class. I’m feeling confident. Hell, at primary school my somersaults were the stuff of legend.
