Growing Great Garlic

Follow these tips to give your garlic a solid start.
You can start growing garlic late in fall or early in spring.

For many small-farm operators, garlic is one of those delightfully lazy crops. You do have to put a nice amount of effort into the planting and then do some occasional maintenance, but for the most part, these hardy plants don’t require much care.

Best of all for urban farmers, it can be grown easily in containers and raised beds and thrives in many types of soil conditions. Here are some top tips for planting garlic, to make sure that you have a bountiful crop.
