HORSE WORLD

Building a better world

We speak to CEO of World Horse Welfare, Roly Owers, about the charity’s work to share knowledge and help improve the lives of horses everywhere

World Horse Welfare is a leading equine charity, working to protect horses from neglect and cruelty (whether intentional or resulting from ignorance) and widen our knowledge and understanding of horses so they can live better lives. One of the ways it does this is through its conferences, with the next one set to take place on 21 November. We spoke to the charity’s Chief Executive Officer, Roly Owers, about the conference, its aims and wider work.

“World Horse Welfare was founded in 1927 by Ada Cole to campaign against the export of British horses for slaughter in Europe. However, today, it tackles all aspects of welfare for every kind of horse across Britain and around the globe. Our research and educational resources help shift perspectives on how we think about horse-human relationships and are at the forefront of shaping better, fairer policies for horses.
