How do you deal with the mental load that life brings? Whatever your circumstances, everyone’s internal monologue can get too loud sometimes, and when it spills over into your passion – horses – it can suck the enjoyment out of, well, everything. Over the past year Editor Louise been on a journey to improve her mindfulness. “It’s definitely work in progress, but I can feel the benefits in every aspect of my life. Being present in the moment isn’t the only achievement, but it does make an enormous difference when it comes to spending time with your horse, as Angie Jones-Moore explains. You’ll feel the effect on the equines in your life as well as yourself, so from someone who’s converted, I urge you to give mindfulness space in your life. You won’t regret it.”

As the days start to get a little bit longer, we’re feeling motivated that spring is just around the corner! So, whether you want to try something new this year or are working hard to achieve your competition dreams, we’ve got loads ideas and inspiration for you. From simple, effective flatwork and jumping exercises to training tips from Gareth Hughes and all you need to know about formation riding – we’ve got something for everyone. Plus, discover how to keep your horse feeling and looking his best with our experts’ winter feeding advice and handy groundwork exercises.

Last autumn, Assistant Editor Sarah spent a fascinating day with strength and conditioning coach Henry Carter, learning about his ethos for developing fitness in riders of all ages and levels of experience. “As a some-time runner and relatively recent Pilates convert, I know how my fitness makes a big difference to my riding, but Henry’s approach – about training your body for what you want to achieve, rather than just to be as strong as possible, was a real eye-opener!'

UK's best-selling equestrian monthly Recensito 13 agosto 2020

Best horse mag ever

Just bought some back issues and a subscription. Used to buy it from the feed barn. Really like the way I can access the old issues whenever I like, and it is so quick to open. And this is the best all round read for me. Recensito 16 luglio 2013

V Quick to download and great quality.

I love this mag and when I got an iPad for christmas thought I would try the digital version. I downloaded the sample for free, no problems. and now I get it sent to my iPad every month. bliss! Recensito 26 febbraio 2013
