Like all gardeners in the UK the KG team battles with tomato blight most seasons, with varying degrees of success. So when a new variety appeared that claimed to beat the disease, we were keen to try it.Thanks to some great UK breeding work in particular, there have been some real advances in this area, but breeders can never afford to rest since the disease is constantly evolving and finding ways around the plant’s defences.
