In the December issue of Knives Illustrated we take a look at some top-notch handmade knives with our special section called Custom Creations. Jim Cobb takes us on a tour of Matt Martin’s shop at Vehement Knives, and Jason Fry, himself a custom knife maker, shows us how craftsmen are bringing art to the Bowie knife platform. Well-known outdoor writer Mike Dickerson makes his Knives Illustrated debut with a profile of Johnny Stout, maker of some of the finest – and most expensive -- artistic custom knives on the planet. Regular contributor Reuben Bolieu profiles the beastly custom choppers of James Helm. Alec Wachtman is just 20 years old, and a relative newcomer to the knife world, but his Wachtman Knife and Tool custom knife company is really taking off. New writer Nikki Indelicato profiles Wachtman through an exclusive interview with him.
