Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North and Vice Admiral John Poindexter are allegedly involved in a scheme to sell arms to Iranian groups in exchange for hostages. They are also using some of the money to fund anti-Communist rebels in Nicaragua. The scandal becomes known as The Iran Contra Affair
