JOHNNY DEPP

HANDSOME. TALENTED. AND A LITTLE BIT ECCENTRIC. YOU CAN’T HELP BUT LOVE JOHNNY DEPP AND HIS COLLECTION OF WEIRD AND WONDERFUL CHARACTERS. BUT IS THE REAL JOHNNY AS ODD IN REAL LIFE AS HE IS ONSCREEN?

The character actor on the high seas.

"When I was growing up, I felt like a complete freak. Very strange,” confessed the actor recently. “I felt weird from the age of five. When I was 12, it was me against the world. I remember locking myself in the bedroom and playing my guitar. It seemed like I was in there for two or three years.”

But things have certainly changed. For a start, he’s a superstar, and extremely rich now.

Johnny was born in Kentucky (USA) on 9th June 1963. His parents (a waitress and a civil engineer) moved the family around the country a lot, which made life very difficult for him, his brother and two sisters. Johnny dropped out of school to pursue a music career with his band, but wasn’t very successful and ended up becoming a pen salesman. His wife at the time (Lori Anne Allison) introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage, who suggested that Johnny become an actor.
