Living Blues #237 (June/July 2015) features one of the great bands of our time, the Holmes Brothers, on the cover in their last major interview before drummer Popsy Dixon died and guitarist Wendell Holmes retired. Kansas City-based Millage Gilbert’s career dates back to the 1950s with Elmore James and Sam Myers in Jackson, Mississippi. Oscar Wilson fronts Chicago’s Cash Box Kings, one of the hottest bands in town these days. Texas-based, Louisiana-born Classie Ballou is an exceptional guitarist and his session work dates back to the 1950s Excello days. We also catch up with venerable pianist Henry Gray and say hello to the latest hot, young player to come out of the Sacred Steel tradition, A.J. Ghent. In addition we have over 50 record reviews, blues news and the latest Living Blues Radio Charts. This issue also includes the ballot for the 2015 Living Blues Awards.
