PINK FLOYD
Abbey Road Studios, February 1967
EMI engineer Norman Smith had worked with The Beatles from 1962 to 1965, but he left the Fab Four to become Pink Floyd’s producer, returning to Abbey Road’s Studio Three to start work on their debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn on 21 February, 1967.
“I wasn’t upset to leave The Beatles,” Smith said later. “I could see that things weren’t going so well at that time with them. We’d had such a happy time before, but at that point, it wasn’t so happy anymore.”
