CAN A MAC MOUNT TWO VOLUMES WITH THE SAME NAME?
Yes, although they’ll confuse you. macOS identifies APFS volumes not by name, but by the volume’s UUID in alphanumeric characters. Volume UUIDs must be unique, or chaos results. macOS then gives each volume a distinctive name when it’s mounted, so apps are able to tell them apart.
HOW TO REPLACE TEXTEDIT AS DEFAULT TEXT EDITOR?
In the Finder, select a plain text file with extension .txt or .text. Display the Get Info dialog using the command in the File menu. Open the “Open with:” section in the dialog, and set your replacement text editor in the pop–up menu. Then click Change All below to apply that change to all text files.
